Locust-Lakes-Village
is one of the communities of the Pocono Lake region located in northeast Pennsylvania. The Poconos is made up of several small towns and communities, with a population of approximately 350,000, although there is no major municipality in the area. The Poconos are well-known for their beauty and recreational opportunities, such as hiking, fishing, skiing, sledding, camping, white water rafting, horseback riding and more. Locust Lakes Village is a "four-season" community that contains five lakes. Three of the lakes have swimming beaches with lifeguards on duty throughout the summer. The lakes are also stocked with fish and boating is allowed, except for outboard motor boats. Other amenities within Locust Lake Village include shuffleboard, a playground for children, baseball field and basketball court. Locust Lake Village also has its' own ski area with a lodge and T-bar lift. In addition, it's within a half-hour's drive to the ski areas at Big Boulder, Jack Frost and Camelback. In the summertime, Locust Lake Village offers planned activities, including arts and crafts for children. The community is within the Poconos, which encompasses seven state parks and one national park, the Pocono Raceway, and part of the Appalachian Trail. Locust Lake Village, or simply "the Village" as it's known to locals, has approximately 1,020 homes currently on site. About 200 families live here full time, with others own vacation homes.

East Central Pennsylvania experiences a humid continental climate with four distinct seasons. Summers are hot and muggy, fall and spring are generally mild, and winters are cold with snow although the snowfall is variable. Some winters bring only a light dusting of snow, while others bring several major snowstorms. The average annual snowfall is 19.3 inches. Precipitation is generally spread throughout the year, with eight to eleven wet days per month. In summer, it's common to have heat waves accompanied by high humidity and thunderstorms. It is possible to experience severe weather in Pennsylvania in the form of blizzards in the wintertime and tornados in the summer, although these type of storms are not the norm.
