Troy
is a village in Troy Township, Bradford County in northeast Pennsylvania. As of the 2000 census, the population was 1,508 full-time residents. Troy is at the heart of the Endless Mountains Region of northeast Pennsylvania, a scenic, peaceful area filled with outdoor recreational opportunities and small town, rural attractions. The Susquehanna River runs through the area, offering fishing, rafting, canoeing and kayaking. There are four nearby state parks that are filled with trails for hiking, biking and snowmobiling. Horseback riding, birdwatching, golf and downhill skiing are some of the other things to do in the Bradford County region. You can even take a ride in a hot air balloon. There are four covered bridges to visit near the village of Troy, and a few of the other attractions include Canyon Vista, High Knob Overlook, French Azilum Historic Site, and the Lackawana Coal Mine Tour. Many of the small towns in the region host festivals and special events, such as autumn hayrides, haunted houses, and nature walks. Troy is considered part of the scenic Poconos, which is one of the most visited areas of the state.

Autumn is generally sunny, dry and low humidity, while spring is wet with intermittent clouds and sun. Summers are hot and humid, and winter is cold with snow. Snowfall is variable year to year, with some winters bringing light snowfall and others bringing several major snowstorms. Precipitation is generally spread throughout the year, with thunderstorms possible in spring and summer. Severe weather is possible, although rare, in northeast Pennsylvania, in the form of blizzards in the wintertime and tornadoes in spring and early summer.
