Aaronsburg
is a small burg located in Centre County, Pennsylvania, which is located in the very center of the state. As of the 2010 census, the population was 613 residents. Founded by Aaron Levy in 1786, this historic village is home to two churches, three cemeteries, a library, history museum and a pottery shop. To celebrate Aaronsburg's history and namesake, a festival was held in 1949. Aaron Levy, a Jewish merchant from Philadelphia presented the towns residents with a pewter communion set as a gift. This unusual gesture drew 50,000 people to Aaronsburg to commemorate it, including Ronald Reagan. A book and short film was produced about this event. Aaronsburg offers an abundance of outdoor activities, including hiking, fishing, boating, biking and sight seeing. Centre County is also home to America's only water cavern. It's especially beautiful in the region in the autumn with the changing of the leaves. Aaronsburg is also home to a historic Federal-style inn circa 1802, located on Route 45 (the Purple Heart Highway) in the Aaronsburg Historic District.

Central Pennsylvania experiences a climate with four distinct seasons. Summers are hot and muggy, fall and spring are pleasant and mild, and winters are cold with snow. Snowfall is variable with some winters bringing only a light dusting of snow, while others bring several major snowstorms. The average annual snowfall is 19.3 inches. Precipitation is generally spread throughout the year, with eight to eleven wet days per month. In summer, it's common to have heat waves accompanied by high humidity and thunderstorms. It is possible to experience severe weather in Pennsylvania in the form of blizzards in the wintertime and tornados in the summer.
