Hummels-Wharf
is a census-designated place located along the Susquehanna River in Snyder County, east-central Pennsylvania. As of the 2000 census, the population was 641 residents. Attractions in town include East Snyder Park, which offers a multi-use facility and plans for nine professional grade horseshoe pits, baseball, softball, football and soccer fields, and a children's playground. Boat access to the river is available at Hummels Wharf. To reach it, from U.S. routes 11 and 15 in Selinsgrove, turn right at Sheetz, then at the curve, then drive straight ahead. At the stop sign, turn left to access the area. Activities include boating, fishing, canoeing and tubing down the river. Shore fishing is also permitted with a Pennsylvania fishing license. Hummels Wharf is just north of the town of Hummelstown, which has always been a stopping point for people traveling to nearby Harrisburg or Hershey. Hummelstown has been listed in the top 500 best towns to live in all of North America. Points of interest include the Hummelstown Historical Society, housed in the original 1815 Zion Lutheran Church. It features a library, a genealogy room and a museum with numerous Native American relics.

Snowfall is variable with some winters bringing only a light dusting of snow, while others bring several major snowstorms. The average annual snowfall is 19.3 inches. Precipitation is generally spread throughout the year, with eight to eleven wet days per month. In summer, it's common to have heat waves accompanied by high humidity and thunderstorms. It is possible to experience severe weather in Pennsylvania in the form of blizzards in the wintertime and tornados in the summer.
