Lords-Valley is an unincorporated area located in Pike County in northeastern Pennsylvania. It's approximately 12 miles from the town of Milford, 30 miles from Stroudsburg and only 80 miles from New York City. The community of Lords Valley was settled approximately 1809 by Levi Lord. Lord's former house, known as "The Lords House," is also the site of the Lords Valley Cemetery, located on Route 739 and the Blooming Grove Turnpike. Located within Lords Valley is a 4,500-acre private, gated community called Hemlock Farms. It's the largest community within Lords Valley, built in 1963. The Hemlock Farms Community Association maintains four lakes within the community, with four swimming beaches, docks, two outdoor swimming pools, ten tennis courts, two baseball fields, two basketball courts, a volleyball court, teen center and children's playground. Other attractions near Lords Valley include the George W. Childs Recreation Site and Bushkill Falls. The latter contains a series of eight waterfalls, including Bridal Veil Falls, Bridesmaid Falls, Laurel Glen Falls and Bushkill Falls. There are 3 other, unnamed falls. The water descends the mountains toward the Delaware River, and is a popular place for hiking, with several trails and bridges of various length and difficulty.

Lords Valley Weather & Climate

The Catskill Mountains  has a climate with many variations depending on the elevation. There is a totally different winter in the mountains and the higher plateaus over 1,000 feet. There, the grip of winter is strong and steady, and above freezing temperatures are less common. Average January temperatures are three to four degrees colder at elevations from one to two thousand feet and over seven degrees colder at elevations above two thousand feet. Snowfall is fairly uniform during the month of January in the Catskills. The third week of July is generally the hottest time of the year in the Catskills, and rainfall during the warm months is usually confined to a few days rather than spread throughout the month. September has warm days, cool nights and fog at dawn over the Hudson valley. By October the hills are a kaleidoscope of color, and the first hard freeze is usually at the end of October.
