Masthope
is a recreational community located in the Pocono Mountains in northeast Pennsylvania. It offers a wide variety of recreational activities, including skiing, swimming, boating, horseback riding, hiking - the list is endless. The Masthope Lodge, built in 2005, is open to the public, and patrons can enjoy dining, while taking in the spectacular breath-taking views over the Delaware River. Masthope offers some of the best skiing in the northeastern U.S. The ski resort offers Ski School Instructors that teach technique for beginners to advanced skiers and also teaches snowboarding. The community of Masthope is also home to a fitness center with all different kinds of exercise equipment, like treadmills and stair climbers. They also have instruction on Pilates, Yoga, Tai Chi, belly dancing. water aerobics and more. Other attractions in Masthope include pony rides, a petting zoo, and a baseball field. Many community-organized activities are also available, such as bingo, theme party nights, barbeques, hay rides, teen and kids pool parties, swimming meets and many other things for the whole family.

Masthope Weather & Climate

The Catskill Mountains has a climate with many variations depending on the elevation. There is a totally different winter in the mountains and the higher plateaus over 1,000 feet. There, the grip of winter is strong and steady, and above freezing temperatures are less common. Average January temperatures are three to four degrees colder at elevations from one to two thousand feet and over seven degrees colder at elevations above two thousand feet. Snowfall is fairly uniform during the month of January in the Catskills. The third week of July is generally the hottest time of the year in the Catskills, and rainfall during the warm months is usually confined to a few days rather than spread throughout the month. September has warm days, cool nights and fog at dawn over the Hudson valley. By October the hills are a kaleidoscope of color, and the first hard freeze is usually at the end of October.
