Lake-Como
is an unincorporated community located in Wayne County in the northeast corner of Pennsylvania. It's mostly known for being home to Camp Lohikan, a premier overnight summer camp for children, situated in the Pocono Mountains. The camp is for both boys and girls, ages six to fifteen. It has over 50 buildings and a swimming pool, and most campers come for 4 or 8 week sessions, although "mini sessions" of just one week are also available. Camp Lohikan has over 200 employees, and campers sleep in modern cabins that are equipped with plumbing and insulation. There is a private lake on site, and the area is filled with mountain streams, a pristine forested landscape and clean mountain air. Visitors at Camp Lohikan can participate in swimming, horseback riding on 7 miles of trails, tennis, arts and crafts workshops, hiking, indoor and outdoor basketball and many other sports activities. Lake Como/Camp Lohikan is located about 2 ½ hours from New York City and is only a 45-minute drive northeast of Scranton, Pennsylvania. Lake Como is a peaceful, safe community, perfect for those who want to truly get away from it all.

The Central Region of New York enjoys a four-season climate with lots of sunshine in the summer and cold, snowy conditions in the winter. This region is a unique mix of farmland, sparkling lakes and cascading waterfalls and other geological wonders. The area around Syracuse receives some of the heaviest snowfalls in the nation, and annual precipitation is from 36 to 44 inches of rain and snowmelt. Summers are pleasant, generally with only a handful of days when humidity is really a problem. Autumn is sunny and cool, but brief. Snow is usually on the ground from Christmas until mid-March, although a period when the ground is bare is also not uncommon. Severe weather such as hurricanes or tornadoes are generally not experienced in New York, as they are in other parts of the country.
