Shehawken-Lake is a reservoir located in the northeastern Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. It's approximately a 30-minute drive from Deposit, New York and three hours from Manhattan. Shehawken Lake is known as a fishing lake for small and large-mouth bass, pickerel, perch and sunnies. Excellent trout fishing (both rainbow and wild brown trout) can be found ten minutes away on the East Branch of the Delaware River or fifteen minutes at the West Branch of the Delaware. Swimming is possible in the lake during the summer months. Other recreational activities near Shehawken Lake include hiking, biking, bird watching, scenic drives (especially beautiful in the fall.) Golf is available within a 15-25-minute drive at Lake Lorraine Golf Course, French Woods Golf and Hancock Golf Club. The entire Poconos region is famous for its' natural beauty - mountains, peaceful valleys, rushing rivers and waterfalls and wintertime ski resorts. For those who aren't the outdoor type, the Mount Pocono region is also filled with fine dining and accommodations, historic bed and breakfasts, luxurious spas, resorts and other attractions. Shehawken Lake Weather & Climate

The Central Region of New York enjoys a four-season climate with lots of sunshine in the summer and cold, snowy conditions in the winter. This region is a unique mix of farmland, sparkling lakes and cascading waterfalls and other geological wonders. The area around Syracuse receives some of the heaviest snowfalls in the nation, and annual precipitation is from 36 to 44 inches of rain and snowmelt. Summers are pleasant, generally with only a handful of days when humidity is really a problem. Autumn is sunny and cool, but brief. Snow is usually on the ground from Christmas until mid-March, although a period when the ground is bare is also not uncommon. Severe weather such as hurricanes or tornadoes are generally not experienced in New York, as they are in other parts of the country.
